Graphic index portraying Archibald Butter's 1902-03 preliminary survey expedition to the Abyssinia/British East Africa border; the survey work was managed by Captain Philip Maud R.E., and the sheet bears his name. The base map is Topographical Section, General Staff No. 2291, published by the War Office (1907) and portrays hydrology, relief by form lines, railways, settlements, international boundaries and place names.
