Official Letter from the Governor Qurrah ben Sharik to Basilius, Pagarch of Aphrodito (P.Lond. IV 1345, TM 19803)
- Scope & Content:
-
Official letter from the governor Qurrah ben Sharik to Basilius, pagarch of Aphrodito, concerning a fine to be levied. The reason is not stated in the preserved portion of the letter, but the sanction was to be fairly divided among the individuals involved on the basis of their wealth. Dated to the 8th indiction, Tybi 6. The editor suggested that the subject is the same as that of Papyrus 1357 (P.Lond. IV 1359), another official letter from the governor concerning a fine. The papyrus belongs to the archive of Basilius.
