Official letter from the governor Qurrah ben Sharik to Basilius, pagarch of Aphrodito, who is being scolded for a delay in the delivery of two thirds of the gold taxes: there is no good excuse for this, given the good produce of the fields, and the arrears shall be dispatched immediately. Dated to the 9th indiction, Pauni 7. The papyrus belongs to the archive of Basilius.

Provenance: Aphrodito, (Kom Ishgau), Antaiopolite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1200-1520 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 20 November 1903.
