2, pp. 2159-2174. From this to page 2174 are the adventures of a person unknown, who came to Calcutta in the government of Mr. Russell [4 March 1710-13 January 1713] and went to the Moors then fighting at Hughley. Copy. (1) pp. 2159-2161. Account of the passage of the ship up the river to Calcutta anno --. (2) p. 2162. Some account of Calcutta, of the Danes factory of Gundallparrah, anno - (3) pp. 2163-2170. Disturbanees at Hughley amongst the Moors in the year --. Mr. Russel, Governor of Calcutta. (4) p. 2171. Description of Chinchurra and Hughley, anno --. (5) p. 2172. Description of Hughley and of Golgutt, the English factory in Hughley, anno --. (6) p. 2173. Description of the Bandel, anno --. (7) p. 2174. Bockboreau [? Bansbaria] and Penmoree, two places above Hughley. This paper, which is incomplete, appears to be by a military man who had been cashiered in Madras, like his friend Captain Hercules Courtney, whose misbehaviour in Madras is described in Talboys-Wheeler's Madras in the Olden Time, p. 314 (Ed. 1882). Extracts from it, with an explanation of some of the extraordinary forms of native names, will be found in Wilson's Early Annals of the English in Bengal, Vol. II., Part 1., p. 383. Dr. Wilson fixes the date as 1712, which appears to be correct, as the paper begins with Nov. 26th and ends with the 11th Jan. 1712/13. It is not of much value, but is very amusing.
