1, p. 4131. Letter, dated Harley Street, 18 August 1764, from Orme to Mr. John Andrews. Copy. Makes some enquiries regarding the Chilka Lake. For reply see No. 3 below. Printed in Dalrymple's Oriental Repertory, Vol, II., p. 405.
2, pp. 4131-4133. Letter, dated Harley Street, Cavendish Square, 4 August 1764 from Orme to Mr Stevenson. Copy. See 12. 16 above. Asks for information about the Surman Embassy to Farrukhsiyar. As Orme says that Mr. Stevenson took part in this Embassy, it appears that he must be the same person as Mr. Edward Stephenson, who was second in the Embassy (see Wilson's Early Annals on the English in Bengal, Vol. II., Part II., p. 271), and became Governor of Calcutta on 17 Sept. 1728.

8, p. 4137. Letter, dated 5 August 1765, from Orme to Mr. Henry Powney. Copy. Asks for the dates of various events during Clive's expedition to Bengal.
9, pp. 4138-4146, Letter, dated Hartley Street, Cavendish Square, 25 April 1767, from Orme to Mr. Matthew Collet. Copy. Encloses a paper of Questions regarding Mr. Watts' flight from Murshidabad, on half-page, Mr. Collet's replies are entered on the remaining half-pages. Mr. Collet's covering letter, dated Updown 4 May 1767, is appended. The questions and answers are copied from 20. 13, and have been printed in Hill's Bengal in 1756-57, Vol. III., p. 396.
10, pp. 4148-4191. Mémoire de l'origine, l'établissement et l'état present des Pitans dans l'Indostan. Copied from 216. 1. This is a letter without signature. It is written on one side only of the sheets, the other side being reserved for remarks, which also are in French. On page 4191 the writer apologises for any defects in his account by saying that he is not a Frenchman and therefore not a master of the French language. In the Index the date is given as 1769 (see 45, p. 2).
