Letter received from Victor Martin, Genève. (1920) Regarding Bell's invitation to join the papyrus syndicate. Concern over prices and contributions, and distribution of material. (1921) Increased contribution possible. Preferred types of papyri. Distribution decisions. Arrangements for delivery of papyri. (1922) Regarding fundraising.
Letters received from Maurice Nahman. (1923). Enclosing 27 papyri discovered at Darb el Guerra and purchased by Kelsey, and describing his process of acquisition and the negotiations on price. Also discusses sending the Greek, Coptic and Demotic papyri.
(1930-1931). Correspondence between Bell and Nahman negotiating prices for 13 lots of papyri. Nahman provides details of other papyri sold to European institutions during the 1920s, and provides details of the Italian mission in the Fayoum.
