The draughtsmanship of this map has been attributed to John Elliott on the grounds of style by Andrew David in The Charts & Coastal Views of Captain Cook’s Voyages, Vol. 2 (1992), however, the writing on the chart and the graduation figures appear to be in John Gilbert’s hand.
This chart is possibly a preliminary study for Add MS 15500 f.14.
