The draughtsmanship of this map has been attributed to John Elliott on the grounds of style by Andrew David in The Charts & Coastal Views of Captain Cook’s Voyages, Vol. 2 (1992).
Taken out for exhibition 26 March 1953, and returned 16 June 1953.
Removed for exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, 24 April 1956.
