  • 7. ff. 60-63. Letter to the choir of Kensington High School, 22 October 1942. Refers briefly to a lecture given by Vaughan Williams at the school, and encloses a list of Christmas carols. With an explanatory letter from the donor, 2009.
  • 8. ff. 64-65. Two letters to Hubert Foss, 1938 and undated. Both sent from The White Gates, Dorking. The first, dated September 16, no year, concerns arrangements for a meeting with Foss, mentions a play which Vaughan Willliams would like to hear about, mentions a proposed arrangement of his Magnificat; "I have had a letter from Hans Schouwman of the Hague asking to make an arrangement of my Magnificat for strings flute + harp. I have written to him suggesting that I should do it myself...". The second letter is dated 9 June 1938 (date from Oxford University Press receipt stamp): "Dear Foss, I am sending my tune for Henry Wood for your inspection".
  • 9. ff. 66-67. Letter to "Robin", possibly Robin Milford; [circa 1925]. (VWL4380). With a note in Vaughan Williams's hand relating to W.G. Whittaker.
  • 10. f. 68. Letter to Canon George Wallace Briggs; 3 October 1943. Concerns words by Briggs which Vaughan Williams has not succeeded in setting to music (VWL3616).
