Commentary by ‘Alā’ al-Dīn ‘Alī ibn Abī al-Ḥazm al-Qurashī (علاء الدين علي بن أبي الحزم القرشي, d. 1288), known as Ibn al-Nafīs (ابن النفيس), on the anatomical material in Avicenna's (Ibn Sīnā, ابن سينا, d. 1037) Canon of Medicine (القانون في الطب).
The copy was completed on 15 Sha‘bān 842/31 January 1439 (see colophon, f. 334v, lines 13-15, transcribed below).
The commentary is followed by notes and poems in Arabic and Persian by hands later than that of the main scribe.

الحمد لله رب العالمين قال الشيخ الإمام العلامة أبو الحسن علاء الدين علي بن أبي الحزم المتطبب القرشي رحمه الله
بعد حمد الله والصلوة على أنبيائه ورسله فإنّ قصدنا الآن إيراد ما تيسر لنا من المباحث على كلام الشيخ الرئيس أبي علي
الحسن بن عبد الله بن سينا رحمه الله في التشريح من جمل كتاب القانون وذلك بأن جمعنا ما قاله في الكتاب الأول من
كتب القانون إلى ما قاله في الكتاب الثالث من هذه الكتب ...

... فلذلك
حذفنا الكلام فيها هنا وسنعيد شرح هذا الفصل على وجه أبسط من هذا ولنستقصي شرح ألفاظه ونحقق
الكلام في الأراء التي ذكرها وغير ذلك وذلك إذا أخذنا في شرح الكتاب الثالث من كتب القانون ونقول
الآن إن قولنا في هذا الفصل وغيره من فن التشريح إن كذا انعقد بالحرارة أو تحرق بنفوذ الدم أو الروح
ونحو ذلك كل ذلك إنما هو لتفهيم المتعلم وتقريب الأمر إليه في التصور وأما في الحقيقة فذلك إنما هو بإرادة من
