Letter from the governor Qurrah ben Sharik to Basilius, pagarch of Aphrodito, with instructions to provide assistance to three Arab officials who are searching for fugitives: Basilius has to send certain agents and each official will take three of them. A summary is provided at the end in a smaller hand. The letter is a copy of Papyrus 1333 (P.Lond. IV 1333), but the number of agents for each official mentioned in the texts is different. Dated to the 7th indiction, Choiak 29.

Two fragments from a papyrus roll, written on one side: the top fragment only contains a word from a line, with traces of another line above it; the bottom fragment is well preserved and contains a letter the beginning of which is lost.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: 515 x 205 mm; Detached fragment: 25 x 50 mm. Framed in one glass case measuring 635 x 255 mm.
Script: Rapid cursive hand, sloping to the right, with letters extending below and above the writing line. A different hand is found in the last four lines.

Provenance: Aphrodito, Antaiopolite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1200-1520 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 20 November 1903.
