Official letter from the governor Qurrah ben Sharik to Basilius, pagarch of Aphrodito, to whom an order already issued in the past is being repeated: he is to send back fugitives from the Arsinoite nome. Why he did not do this earlier is unknown to the governor. The document is dated to the 8th indiction, the month being lost. The papyrus belongs to the archive of Basilius.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: 520 x 210 mm. Framed in one glass case measuring 570 x 260 mm and mounted on cardboard, with the exception of the part bearing writing on the verso.
Script: Cursive hand, sloping to the right and with letters extending below and above the writing line.

Provenance: Aphrodito, Antaiopolite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1200-1520 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 20 November 1903.
