Official letter from the governor Qurrah ben Sharik to Basilius, pagarch of Aphrodito, concerning fugitives of the Arsinoite, Herakleopolite and Oxyrhynchite nomes. Basilius is to select two men, who will be responsible for those fugitives who have been caught; apparently, they will also have to draw up a list of fugitives. Some instructions regarding expenses are also mentioned, but the papyrus is too damaged to know more. With docket on verso. The papyrus belongs to the archive of Basilius.

Fragment of a papyrus roll, damaged throughout, broken at the bottom and lacking the left-hand side of the text; with docket on the verso. Housed in one glass frame and mounted on cardboard, with the exception of the part of the verso bearing writing.

Dimensions: 335 x 120 mm. Framed in one glass case measuring 380 x 180 mm and mounted on cardboard, with the exception of the part bearing writing on the verso too.
Script: Cursive hand, sloping to the right and with letters extending below and above the writing line.

Provenance: Aphrodito, Antaiopolite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1200-1520 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 20 November 1903.
