pp. 1-123: Batavia, 23 December 1811. Registers van de Contracten, Boeken en Papieren van het voormalige Gouvernement Generaal, in het Gouvernements Huis berustende. By H. W. Muntinghe and W. J. Cranssen. Copy. Lists of papers (in sets, some dating from 1596 to 1809) found in the Government archives at the time of the British conquest of Java. In general the papers are separately mentioned and the dockets often give an idea of the contents, but in many cases that is not so, and often a number of papers are collected in a bundle without precise indications as to the contents.
Includes (besides an imperfect Table of Contents in pencil, on p. 3) :- (a) pp. 5-9: A General Summary and Table of Contents, also covering 71. 1 infra, which is really the second part of this collection of lists. 83. 1 & 3 infra contain a translation of this summary. (b) pp. 13-123 : The lists themselves, grouped under (i) papers relatIng to the Commissaries-General; and (ii) papers relating to the Government of Batavia; and hereunder a large number of sub-headings, viz., Korte Notulen; Realia's; Origineele, gemeene, Generaal Resolutien; Origineele Secreete Resolutien ; Besoignes; Afgaande Origineele Generaal Patrias brieven boeken; Gemeene Brieven van de Buiten Komptoiren (including letters from Eastern Java, Cheribon, Amboina, Banda, Ternate, Macassar, Banjermasin, West Coast of Sumatra, Malacca, Siam, Bengal, Malabar, Surat, Bantam, China, Japan, Palembang, Pontianak, Cape of Good Hope,and from Holland); Secreate Brieven en bijlaegen van de buiten Comptoiren (from the same places together with Timor, Coromandel, and Ceylon, but omitting Siam and Pontianak); then (after a number of minor miscellaneous collections on pp. 41-2) Contracten, en Nagelatene Memorie (i.e., treaties with native princes and memoirs of outgoing Governors of Dutch posts, relating to Amboina, Banda, Ternate, Macassar, Malacca, Coromandel, Ceylon, Eastern Java, Timor, Banjermasin, Palembang, Jambi, China, Siam [up to here runs the English translation in 83. 4 & 2 infra], Japan, Cheribon, Malabar, West Coast of Sumatra, Surat, Bengal, Bantam, and (pp. 121-3) some unclassified miscellaneous papers of this kind).
