Minutes of the Council of the Hakluyt Society, with abstract of the proceedings of the Council at end of volume. During 1847 meetings were held monthly, or more often as required. From 1848, meetings were held from January to July, and November to December. The number of meetings held each year varied in accordance with business; in 1860, the Society held three meetings, but in 1864 it held six meetings.The Minutes include those of the Annual General Meetings. Minutes are signed by various chairman including Sir Roderick Impey Murchison, Charles Malcolm, David Dundas, Henry Ellis, Charles Bethune, R.W. Grey, J. Winter Jones, John Barrow, Lord Stanley of Alderley, Admiral Erasmus Ommanney, Henry Yule, Clements Markham, George Earl Church, Albert Grey, and John Scott Keltie.
Printed Reports of the Hakluyt Society are included in the volume from 1895, 1901, 1902-1905, and 1909-1921.
From 1903, occasional copies of proposals and correspondence are included.
