Minutes of the Council of the Hakluyt Society, with unused index at front of volume. The number of Council Meetings held by the Society differed throughout the period, with the Society holding two, three, or four per year. In addition the Society held an Annual General Meeting, usually in June or July and preceding a Council Meeting. By 1947, the AGM had moved to April.
Minutes are signed by various chairman including Albert Grey, William Foster, Sir Percy Cox, Sir William Goodenough, Edward Lynam, Malcolm Letts, Professor Eva G.R Taylor, J.N.L. Baker, Sir Alan Burns, and Sir Gilbert Laithwaite.
Printed Reports of the Hakluyt Society are included in the volume from1922-1946. Copies of proposals, correspondence, and supporting papers - including those from sub-committees - are included. Minutes are handwritten until 19 Feb 1948, when typescript minutes are pasted into the volume.
