1, p. 1 (22.5 x 18 cm.). Letter, dated Queen Square, Saturday, from Laurence Sulivan to Orme. Original. Sends him some old papers.
2, pp. 1-6 (30 x 18.5 cm.). Minutes taken on board his Majesty's Ship "Kent," at the attack of Buzea Bugee Fort, at Tanau and the attack of Calcutta. Copy. Printed in Hill's Bengal in 1756-57, Vol. III., p. 1.
3, pp. 9-13 (37.8x 25 cm.). Extracts of News from Bengall relating to the taking of Chandernagore the 23rd March 1757. Copy. Printed in Hill’s Bengal in 1756-57, Vol. III., p. 27.
4, pp. 17-20 (31 x 18.5 cm.). Abstract of a letter, dated 31 March 1757 from Mr. W[atson], giving an account of the Expedition to Chandernagore. Copy. Duplicate of 64.5. This is an abstract of W atson's letter to John Cleveland, dated 31st March 1757, which is to be found in the Admiralty Records, and is printed in Hill's Bengal in 1756-57, Vol. II., p. 309.
5, pp. 21-23 (46 x 38 cm.). Plan of the battle of Plassey. Copy. A copy of this plan exists in the Madras Records (see Hill's Bengal in 1756-57, Vol. II., p. 434), and is there endorsed as by Lord Clive. From the paging in this volume it would, however, appear to be an enclosure to No.6 below, which, from internal evidence, is clearly not by Clive, so that the authority or the endorsement is somewhat doubtful.

7, pp. 29-30 (32.5 x 20.8 cm.). Translation of a Treaty between the Nabob Meer Mahmud Cossim Cawn and the Company. Copy. Replacing Jafar Ali on the masnad at Murshidabad by Kasim Ali Khan. Its date is 27th Sept. 1760. This has been frequently printed, e.g., in Aitchison's Treaties, Vol. I., p. 214.
8, pp. 33-36. Intelligence from Pondicherry sent by R. O. to Mr. Payne, concerning the expectation of Lally and the French armament. (1) p. 33 (23.5 x 19 cm.). Extract of a letter from P - dated Aug. 30th 1757. In French. (2) pp. 35-36 (21 x 17 cm.). Translation of (1).
9, pp. 39-43 (38 x 24 cm.). A short relation of events on the Coast of Cormmandel since the Arrival of Lieut.-Gen. Lally and His Majesty's Squadron consisting of 11 ships under the command of Mons. d'Achie, Chef d'Esquadre. Copy. This is better described in the Contents as "Relation of events, by a Frenchman, from the arrival of the French squadron on the Coast to the reduction of Fort St. David, from April 28th to the 2nd June." It is a French account of the engagement of the 29th April 1758, between Admirals d'Aché and Pocock, the capture of Cuddalore, 4th May, and that of Fort St. David, the 2nd June. The latter, which was the strongest Fort belonging to the English in India, fell, says the Wrlter, owing to the shortage of powder and disunion in the garrison.

11, pp. 51-57 (38 x 23.5 cm.). Remarks on board the Honourable Company's Ship “Revenge," Capt. Page Keble Commander (Sept. 10th 1759). Copy. Re-copied in XI. 3 (8).
12, pp. 59-61 (33.5 x 21 cm.). The Line of Battle of the English Squadron as they engaged the French Squadron , of 11 Ships the 10th of Sept. 1759 in sight of Tranquebar Flag staff, and the Condition of the eleven Ships of the French Line as they appeared to the "Revenge" at 3 p.m. on the 11th of September. Copy. Re-copied in XI. 3 (4) and (5).

18, p. 81 (31.6 x 19.5 cm.). Capitulation granted by Col. Coote to Pondicherry. Copy. (See Coote's Journal, VIII. 2 (28) below.) This is really Coote's reply to Lally's proposals, and as such is printed in Grose's Voyage to the East Indies, Vol. IL, p. 401.
19, pp. 83-85 (33.5 x 20.5 cm.). Minutes taken at the attack of Gheriah, 12th Feb. 1756. Copy. Apparently taken on board the Revenge, which appears to have been Admiral Watson's flagship on this occasion.

An account of the defeat of the Marathas at Panipat, in January 1761. States that 22,000 of the prisoners were made Muhammadans. See 27. 14 above.
22, (1), p. 93 (31 x 19.5 cm.). Mr. Stevens Account of the late disaster at Ponda. Duplicate copy. A short description of the defeat of the Portuguese by the Marathas on 28 June 1756. (See F. C. Danvers The Portuguese in India, II. 430.) (2) pp. 95-96 (21.8 x 16 cm.). List of officers killed in the late action against Ponda. Copy. Contains also the names of the wounded.
23, p. 97 (24.5 x 19.5 cm.). Copy of passages of two letters from Mons. d'Estaign to Alexander Douglas, dated Bunder-abbas the 29th and 31st Oct. 1759. Regrets that he cannot obtain the return of some of his property which appears to have fallen "in black Devilish hands."
24, pp. 99-104 (32 x 19.5 cm.). A Journal of the Proceedings of the Forces before Manilha under the command of Brigadier-General Draper, Sept. 24th 1762 to 7th Oct. 1762, with a return of the killed and wounded during the siege. Probably by Engineer William Stevenson, and sent with a letter dated Manilla 10th Nov. 1762 to the Court of Directors (see Madras Press List for 1762. Nos. 3306, 3307.
