- Leases of Rooms (P.Lond. I 113.6(a-b), TM 41025-41026) and Sale of Hay (P.Lond. I 113.6(c), TM 41027)
- Scope & Content:
-
Left-hand side document (P.Lond. I 113.6(a), Jur.Pap. 39, FIRA III 148, TM 41025): Complete lease of a room in a house in Arsinoe, the lessee being Aurelia Maria, daughter of Aion, and the lessor Aurelia Eudoxia, daughter of Charis, both from Arsinoe. With notarial subscription at the end and endorsement on the back. No regnal formula is present, but the text may date to 2 April 612 or 627 (15th indiction, Pharmouthi 7).
Mid-document (P.Lond. I 113.6(b), Chrest.Mitt. 147, TM 41026): Complete lease of two rooms, the lessee being Aurelius Gerontius, an attendant of the public baths, and the lessor Flavius Gerontius, comes (count), both from Arsinoe. Dated to 12 August 633; with notarial subscription at the end and endorsment on the back.
Right-hand side document (P.Lond. I 113.6(c), Chrest.Mitt. 148, TM 41027): Almost fully preserved sale of hay on delivery, broken on top and dated 9th indiction, Phaophi 5 (2 October 620 or, less likely, 650 or else 3 October 635), with no regnal clause. It is addressed to Flavius Gerontius, presumably the same man as the one in Papyrus 113.6(b), representant of Theodosius, general (stratelates) from the city of the Arsinoites, by two residents of a hamlet in the Theodosiopolite nome. The document is signed by the notary Georgius, who also signed two other papyri, published as BGU I 315 and P.Heid. V 361. The text is written in the same hand as P.Bodl. I 141.
