Correspondence between Professor Raymond M. Crawford and Gordon D. Richardson, successive Honorary Secretary for the Australian Branch of the Hakluyt Society, and R.A. Skelton, Honorary Secretary for the Hakluyt Society London. Includes bundle of correspondence from 1954 relating to the Society's unsuccessful application to the Australian Government, requesting financial support for the publication of the Cook Journals, in order to keep the retail price as low as possible. Also includes copies of an earlier request from 1948.
Also includes correspondence with individuals regarding subscription for the set of 4 volumes of Cook's Journals, and includes copy of the printed prospectus for the work.
