Treatise on dietetics for ill patients by Najīb al-Dīn Abū Ḥāmid Muḥammad ibn ‘Alī ibn ‘Umar al-Samarqandī (نجيب الدين أبو حامد محمد بن علي بن عمر السمرقندي, d. 1222).

الحمد لله الذي خلق الداء وأوجب الدواء وسلام على عياده

الذين أصطفي خصوصًا على سيدنا وحبيبنا محمد المجتبي

ورسوله المرتضي صلى الله عليه وعلى آله ما دامت الأرض والسماء

ورضي الله عن أصحابه أولى النجدة والوفاء وسلم وبارك وكرم

أما بعد فهذا كتاب أغذية المرضى جمعه الأستاذ العالم الرباني

مولانا نجيب الدين السمرقندي قدس الله روحه فقال

الصداع الحار يتنفع منه مما يؤكل ويشرب ماء الشعير والحنطة

... وكل حال من حالات البدن ووقت من أوقات

السنة وسن من الأسنان وعند غلبة كل خلط من الأخلاط

وفقنا الله تعالى لما هو أكثر نفعًا وأعمّ غائلة وأنهى بنياننا

إلى أخلص المقات وبأعمالنا إلى أحسن الأعمال أنه هو
