A fragmentary letter or petition addressed to the senate of Oxyrhynchus from Aurelius Ammon, a pancratiast, possibly in relation to the privileges granted to athletes. The man seems to be willing to travel outside the homeland, where he has already proved his skills. Dated in the 4th year of Diocletian and 3rd of Maximian (years are inverted in the text), Pharmouthi (March/April 289); with autograph subscription followed by tachygraphic marks in lighter ink at the end.

A sheet lacking its portion on the right-hand side from the same ‘pasted roll’ (tomos synkollesimos) as Papyrus 3058 (P.Oxy. XXVII 2475) and Papyrus 3059 (P.Oxy. XXVII 2476); written on one side along the fibres, containing one column numbered as ‘4’ (delta) on top, with the heading letter and tachygraphic marks at the end being in lighter ink than the rest of the text. A few small wormholes are visible; a small portion of surface is damaged on the right-hand side.
