1, pp. 1-5 (31.5 x 19.5 cm.). Letter from Rayal Pundat, Vakeel, dated Chakumpatty, 5 Dec. 1755. Copy. Describes Mahfuz Khan's intrigues to prevent Madura and Tinnevelly being rented to “Tettarapah Moodelair," and gives a statement of the various Farms in which Madura and Tinnevelly were let out by Mahfuz Khan. N.B. Rayal Pandit was a clerk whom Capt. Caillaud had sent to act as Wakil to Mahfuz Khan.

2, pp. 6-124 (31.5 x 19.5 cm.). Letters from Col. Donald Campbell to the Governor and Council and to Colonel Joseph Smith, from the 24th Feb. 1767 to the 28th June [? July] 1768. Copies. Duplicates of 60. 3, and 77. 2, 3. (1) pp. 6-84. 24th Feb. to 18th Aug. 1767. These are separately paged and have an index. (see pp. 82-84). Dealing chiefly with Madura and Tinnevelly, of which provinces he was Military Commandant. They show the terrible condition of the people under the Nawab's misgovernment. The Index gives the distance in miles of many of the less known places from places already marked on maps. (2) pp. 85-124. 6th June to 28th July 1768. Deal with the first war with Haidar Ali.

3, pp. 125-136 (37 x 24 cm.). Statement of the Nabob's Accounts with the Polygars of the Tinnevelly Country from the year 1743 to 1764, both included. Copy. Dated Fort St. George, 25 July 1767. See 308. 10 below.
