File belonging to Terence E. Armstrong, Honorary Secretary of the Hakluyt Society, relating to the publication of The Jamestown Voyages under the First Charter, 1606-1609 edited by Philip L. Barbour.
Includes number of copies of maps compiled for use in the volume, including envelope containing copies of maps and photograph of Jamestown Ship Replicas 'Godspeed', 'Discovery' and 'Susan Constant' under sail. Envelope also contains printed article 'Design and Construction of the Jamestown Ships' by Robert G.C. Fee, The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, no. 1, 1958. Also includes detailed costings for printing the two volume work, and agreement between Philip Barbour and the Hakluyt Society to publish, dated 16 Nov 1967. Also newspaper cuttings and reviews of published work, and two copies of award of merit from the American Association for State and Local History.
