1, pp.1-5 (32 x 20 cm.). Extract from the "Hardwicke's" Journal, who went on the expedition with Colonel. Forde, 7th October 1758 to 25th Jan. 1759, with a Letter, dated Rajahmundry, 3rd Jan. 1759, from Col. Francis Forde to Council, Fort St. George. Mostly in Orme's handwriting. Col. Forde's letter is printed in Lionel Forde's Clive's Right Hand Man p. 71.

8 pp. 61-75 (36.5 x 47.5. cm.). (1) The Nabob's account current with the Company, from the 30th April 1759 to 1st May 1760. Copy. (2) Account current of Military expenses during the same period. Copy. (3) Bengal Presidency, their account with Fort St. George, and Fort St. George, their account with Bengal, to explain Monies sent this year from Bengal to Madras. Copy.
9, pp. 77-80 (32.5 x 19.5 cm.). Index of the Correspondents in the Country Correspondence of Madras for the year 1759. It is only the names referring to the little book in which the dates of the letters are classed under their respective heads. It is the first draught of the Index made as arising by myself.
10, pp 81-86 (23 x 19 cm.). [Edward] Cotsford's Journal of the siege of Wandewash by Lally from the 10th to the 21st Jan. 1760. Original. The last entry is that of the 22nd: "About 7 this morning a great tire of cannon was heard to the Westward of the Hill which we may reasonably expect to be the Army coming to our relief. 'Then followed the battle which gave us India."
11, pp. 85-115 (22.5 x 18.5 cm.). Battle of Wandewash, my ideas of it, composed at Paris and in French, in Jan. and Feb. 1778 for the examination of Mr. Bussy. In Orme's handwriting and in French. Orme's third volume was published in 1778, and the account of the battle of Wandiwash in that volume is, in parts, literally translated from this though it differs in certain details.

15 (1), pp. 123-130 (24 x 19 cm.). Queries to Sir Eyre Coote, Nov. 1777, concerning the attack of Permacoil, 29th Feb. to 5th March 1760, with his answer's. In Orme's handwriting. In one of his replies Coote says: "And by the bye you will find I have taken but little notice throughout the Service of the number of black Troops demolished. If I had done it there would appear a pretty considerable addition to the slain." The details given by Eyre Coote showed that he referred to his Journal, of which apparently only a copy now exists. See VIII. 2. (2) pp. 131-132 (26.8 x 20 cm.). Letter, dated West Park, 13th Nov. 1777, from Eyre Coote to Orme. Original. "Many a military man besides myself can thank Providence for the success which has attended his labours; but there are very few indeed whose lot it has been to have them recorded by such an able and judicious pen as Mr. Orme's." See 222. 149.
