This, the third great battle of Panipat, was fought in 1761. A fourth battle was fought at the same place in 1767.

In the Table of Contents this is described as an estimate of the Bengal Charges for 1774, but as the Army Estimate is that entered on the Consultations of 13 March 1775 as General Clavering's, it would appear to be the Estimate for the year 1775-76.

16, pp. 73-76 (31.5 x 19 cm.). Events at Bengal Presidency Mutiny of Sepoys in the Nabob's pay. l776. Copy. The Nabob referred to is Asaf-ud-daula.
17, pp. 77-80 (3l.5 x 19 cm.). Some Account of the celebrated Adventurer, Sombre or Sumroo. July 4th 1776. Apparently Original and endorsed in Orme's handwriting:- "Sent me by a Correspondent who resides near Dilly." This account appears to have been furnished by Colonel Ironside to Orme, being almost word for word the same as that given by Major Polier in a letter to that officer. See Asiatic Annual Register, 1800. Miscellaneous Tracts. Extracts of Letters from Major Polier at Delhi to Colonel Ironside at Belgram, May 22nd 1776, p. 30. Some of Polier's letters to Ironside have been reprinted in Bengal Past and Present, April to June 1914.

A View of the present Situation of the Emperor Shah Allum and the Territories round Delhy remaining in his possession, with some account of a Sect of People not long since appeared, called the Seiks, and the condition of Cossim Ali Cawn. July 28th 1776. In the same handwriting as No, 17 above. See Asiatic Annual Register, 1800. Miscellaneous Tracts, p. 32, where a longer extract from Polier's letters is headed Account of the King, of his Dominions, and of Nujhaf Khan.

21, pp. 103-127 (23x 17.5 cm.). Letter, dated Moorshedabad, 3rd March 1777, from William Hosea to Orme. Signed by Hosea. Contains a sketch of the political state of India and some account of Bundelkhand.
22, pp. 129-130 (22.5 x 18 cm.). Extract from a letter, dated Corah, 17 Jan. 1777. Copy., Account of Col. Goddard's attack upon" Sukranny," a Fort in the Doab. The reason of the failure of the attack is given as follows :- "I am sorry to say all these misfortunes were owing to the dastardly behaviour of our Sepoys, who were panic struck at seeing one of the Black Officers blown up in the Air with the Colours in his hand, by a Pot of Gun-Powder."
