p. [i]. Table of Contents.
1, pp. 1-6 (37.5 x 23 cm.). Translation of a Grant of the Township of Misaka in the Province of Patna made by Diva Pal, Samvat 33, the same being his own property and containing no land belonging to another. Translated from an inscription on a Copper Plate found at Monghir in 1765 by C. Wilkins, Esq. Possibly Original.
2, pp. 9-11 (43 x 27 cm.). Account of the surprise of Gualior in 1780 by Captain Popham by --. Copy. The surprise was effected on the night of the 3rd-4th August 1780. Captain William Bruce led the attack. The Rock where the place was stormed was 200 ft. high to the base of the wall, the way up being shown to the English by some Mewati Robbers who carried up rope ladders. The attempt was nearly frustrated by the folly of some of Bruce's Sepoys, who, as soon as they had mounted, began firing. This paper resembles very closely the description sent by Captain Jonathan Scott to his brother Major John Scott, which is printed in William Hodges' Travels in India, pp. 139-142.
3, pp. 13-17 (35 x 20.5 cm.). Translation of a letter written in the Persian Language by Maha Rajah Soubah Sing to Aurengzebe, Emperor of Hindostan. Copy. Translated by C. W. B. Rouse. A remonstrance against Aurengzebe's tyranny and intolerance. Elphinstone (History of India, p. 564 n) says this letter is ascribed to Raj Singh of Udaipur and also to Sivaji. It is printed in Orme's Historical Fragments, note XLIX, where it is ascribed to Jaswant Singh of Jodhpur.
