Two receipts on account of different taxes from the archive of the soldier Menas.
Upper text, Papyrus 1719A (P.Lond. V 1743, TM 38847): Receipt issued for Raistos Palmatat for the payment of half solidus on account of money taxes (demosia), dated to 19 July (Epeiph 25) of a 9th indiction. Intermediary of the payment is the soldier Apa Menas.
Lower text, Papyrus 1719b (P.Lond. V 1749, TM 38852): Receipt issued for the soldier Apa Menas for the payment of 1 solidus on account of poll-tax (andrismos) of the 1st indiction. Victor signed.

Two small square papyrus sheets, fully preserved and with all margins extant. Writing runs along the fibres on the recto, the verso being blank. The lower part of each papyrus is folded and tied with a papyrus strip on which a clay seal is attached. Mounted in a glass case.
