File relates to the third volume The Journals of Captain Cook on his Voyages of Discovery: The Voyage of the Resolution and Discovery, 1776-1780 edited by J.C. Beaglehole (Cambridge: 1967), and preparation for a forth volume.

Redfearn re: charts; Eila Campbell; & Glyn Williams, Queen Mary's College, including plan for Cook IV: Bibliography. Also series of letters from Sir Gilbert Laithwaite, regarding correspondence with Sir Philip Hay and Sir John Bunting, Prime Minister's Department Canberra, regarding a grant from the Australian Government for a reprint of volume I, and further correspondence about the reprint.
Includes correspondence between R.A. Skelton to Eila Campbell, Nov 1967, regarding the Finance & General Purpose Committee's Minutes of 16 Nov 1967, re: content for proposed volume IV. With R.A. Skelton's 'Cook's Journals Vol IV, Notes on Recommendations of F. & G.P. Committee'. Includes correspondence relating to the setting up of the Cook Vol IV Sub-Committee.
Also various notes by R.A. Skelton relating to volume III, including typescript proofs.
