File of papers originally belonging to R.A. Skelton, and passed to Eila Campbell, Honorary Secretary of the Haylukt Society, marked 'Received after Skelton's death'. File consists of correspondence and other papers relating to various benefactors in relation to the publication of the Journals of Captain Cook's Voyages.
Includes correspondence with: Lord Kilmaine, the Pilgrim Trust; Edmond de Beer; New Zealand Government, including correspondence with the Secretary for Internal Affairs; Canadian Government regarding request for financial assistance in 1948; & Australian Government, including copies of correspondence from an application for financial assistance in 1948 & 1954. Also includes correspondence relating to the distribution of complimentary copies of volume II.
Also contains photographic copy of Captain Cook's portrait by N. Dance; photograph of Clifford Cook; photographic copy, coloured copy and black & white copy of James Cook's coat of arms.
