- 279 folios of revised drafts for chapters 8-15 (then titled ‘The Goldfish Bowl’ rather than ‘A Goldfish Bowl’), all of which contain material that did not make the published version of the book. All contain various degrees of annotation by the author in green and red ink and pencil. Revised drafts of chapters 1-7 are in a separate volume, see above.- [ff** 54 total]: Chapter 8. Title ‘Post-war world’ crossed out. Paginated 279-333. Heavier annotations than earlier chapters. - [ff** 25 total]. Chapter 9. Title ‘Nightmare world’ crossed out. Paginated 334-359. Several pages crossed through: lawyers advised this chapter should be entirely removed because of possible libel implications, and most material was eventually cut. Contains vivid accounts of the author’s unpleasant experiences at a psychiatric institution in Virginia Water.- [ff** 41 total]: Chapter 10. Title ‘Divided worlds’ crossed out. Paginated 360-401. Again heavily annotated, with several pages crossed through. Includes passages removed at the insistence of Ian Glennie’s lawyers.- [ff** 50 total]: Chapter 11.
