Top portion of a papyrus, containing the first twenty-six lines of a private letter. Written on both sides along the fibres, with a faint one-line docket on the verso; folded along the vertical axis (most prominently in the mid-point of the fragment). Mounted in one glass frame.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: 175 x 107 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 225 x 165 mm.
Script: Medium-sized epistolary hand, with occasional cursive elements. Punctuation is occasionally indicated by vacat (ll. 3, 10, 14), and word-break is at least once marked by an apostrophe (l. 11). Iota adscript is written after both eta (ll. 1, 20, 25, 27) and omega (ll. 2, 10), at least once erroneously.

Provenance: Arsinoite nome (?), Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2103-2239 from Bernard Pyne Grenfell (b. 1869, d. 1926) in May 1920.
