Second Boer War Siege map. Covers the town of Mafeking and surrounding area in Bechuanaland Protectorate and Cape Colony to a radius of 3 miles. Portrays hydrology, relief by shading and hachures, roads and tracks, railways, settlements and isolated buildings, vegetation and military installations.
The sheet bears the note 'This is a photograph of an original map done by Col Vyvyan, "The Buffs" during the Siege. The original was presented to the Corporation of Mafeking. See 57/8/5567 22/3/9 4a/3455'.
