Sheet bears the note 'Prepared in connection with reports of tours Augt-Oct 1917 and May-July 1919 through Kaokoveld from S. to Kunene R[ive]r and tributaries in N., S.W. to Atlantic Coast, Zesfonein, etc and E. across into Ovamboland.' [NB 'Zesfonein' is a misspelling - it is spelt correctly on the map face.]
Covers the Kaokoveld region in north-western South West Africa, extending approximately 200 miles southwards from the Angolan border. Portrays hydrology, roads and tracks, settlements, place names, water sources, international boundaries, tribal areas and expedition routes, and includes topographical and logistical notes. Some poorly reproduced areas have been enhanced in manuscript.
The legend refers to areas shaded red that are indistinguishable on this blue-print reproduction.
