Left papyrus (A) (P.Lond. V 1738, TM 19751): Receipt for the public tax (demosia), poll-tax (diagraphon) and maintenance tax (dapane) paid by the soldier Menas, son of Sarapammon. The receipt is signed by a certain Athanasius.
Right papyrus (B) (P.Lond. V 1751, TM 38854): Receipt for the maintenance tax (dapane) paid by Menas, brother of Lucas. The receipt is signed by the notarius Ioannes. There are ink-traces on the verso.

- Two small sheets, written along the fibres. The left one (A) is broken off at the middle of the right side; it has writing on one side only and the seal at the bottom; the right one (B) is fully preserved; there are ink-traces on the verso. Mounted in a glass case.

Script: Rather small, cursive, minuscule hand. Cross-marks at the beginning.

Provenance: Arsinoite nome or Hermopolite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1545-1753 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1865, d. 1907) on 8 December 1906.
