- Scope & Content:
- A private letter from Panares to his son, Heraclas. Panares starts his letter with greetings then informs the recipient about financial income and expenditures. Instructions to buy lentils is added in a different hand perhaps by Heraclas’s mother or wife. The back contains the address of the letter.

Dimensions: 148 x 84 mm; housed in a glass case measuring 195 x 140 mm.
Script: The main body of the text is written in a semi-cursive hand. The last three lines (a postscript) are written in a second, somewhat less cursive hand.

Provenance: Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2103-2239 from Bernard Pyne Grenfell (b. 1869, d. 1926) in May 1920.
