Various items (photographs, cuttings and letters) relating to Lady Dorothy's family (Gathorne-Hardy), as follows:
- (1). Two black and white photographs of Lady Dorothy, as a young child and as a young woman.
- (2). Autograph letter (1907) from C. G. Stepney to Lady Dorothy, on St Pauls headed paper, referring to forthcoming marriage of Lady Dorothy and Rupert D'Oyly Carte.
- (3). Typed notes (by Anne Hill) and autograph notes (in Bridget D'Oyly Carte's hand) on Lady Dorothy's family history.
- (4). Patrick Guy Gathorne-Hardy (1911-1966). Printed Funeral Service, Christ Church, Lancaster Gate, 3 Feb 1966. Newspaper cuttings. Autograph letter (2 April, year not indicated) on Cranbrook headed paper. Autograph notes in Bridget D'Oyly Carte's hand.
- (5). Various family-related small cuttings. Typed copies of a letter on behalf of Queen Victoria (31 March 1883) to Lord Cranbrook (refers to the death of John Brown, 27 Mar 1883) and of an entry in Cranbrook's journal (10 Aug 1892) referring to an exchange of letters with the Queen in which she asks him to sit for his portrait for her. Newspaper extract (Sunday Times, 28 Aug 1960) about collecting art, annotated 'Gathorne-Hardy, 25/-' by Bridget D'Oyly Carte).
- (6). Further family-related small cuttings (deaths and marriages) gathered by Elinor Pugh.
- (7). Three postcards (annotated on the versos) showing prints of properties owned by Hardy family members. Typed copy of poem 'Castles in the Air' (1872) by Henry Graham. Letter and receipt (1968) to Lady Dorothy regarding additional inscription to the gravestone of Jane Gathorne-Hardy (Benenden Churchyard).
