Covers the preliminary march from Addis Abbaba to the Blue Nile near Debra Markos in western Abyssinia prior to the expedition proper downstream along the Blue Nile. Portrays hydrology, relief by hachures, settlements, place names and the expedition route with campsites, and includes topographical notes. Reduced from an original compass survey by Lieutenant W.G.A. Ramsay-Fairfax and Mr E.A. Lang.
