1. Letter from Dr. Bailley, or Baillie. Popularity of the King of Prussia [Frederick II, alias Frederick the Great]. Offer from the dissenters to send over cloth sufficient to make coats for 50,000 or 60,000 men. Comparison between the King of Prussia and Caesar, and laboured panegyric of the former. Scheme of some merchants in the city to equip a fleet of 20 ships to attack the Swedes and Russians under Prussian colours. Dated London, 10 December 1757. (folio 1)
2. Letter from Dr. Bailley, or Baillie. Praise of the King of Prussia. Disposition of the million voted by Parliament. The Prussian Minister in London refuses the offer of the dissenters relative to providing clothing as ‘reflecting on the honour of his master’. Scheme of fitting out ships against the Swedes. Extract of a letter from America, saying they intend to apply to the King of Prussia for one of his Sergeants or Corporals to command their troops.
