Scope & Content:

Volume XXII of the Stepney Papers, consisting of the diplomatic correspondence of George Stepney esquire, whilst resident at several of the European Courts, with the English Ministers at home and abroad.

This volume contains papers of news transmitted to Mr. Stepney by Mr. Cardonnel (Secretary to the Duke of Marlborough [John Churchill]) during the Campaigns of 1702-1706; and from Sir Lambert Blackwell, Mr. Chetwynd, and Mr. Broughton, English Ministers Resident in Italy during the same period.
