Newspaper cuttings pasted onto the rectos and versos of 14 detached folios:
(1). Folio 1:
- Announcements of performances of Patience at the Opera Comique and to the transfer of the opera to the Savoy Theatre on 10 October 1881: 'Savoy Theatre - Special Notice - The opening night is unavoidably postponed to Monday, Oct. 10th, in order to complete the very complicated works and experiments connected with the application of the Electric Light to the Stage; these works have occupied a much longer time than was expected. Mr. Carte trusts that the novelty of the undertaking will be an excuse for the delay.'
- A long notice written by Richard D'Oyly Carte (Beaufort House, Strand, 6 Oct 1881), beginning: 'I beg leave to place before you some details of a new theatre which I have caused to be built, with the intention of devoting it to the representation of the operas of Messrs. W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, with whose joint productions I have up to now had the advantage of being associated.'.
- 15 July 1901. Notice in The Standard from the County Council concerning 'The Widening of Piccadilly'. The Notice also refers to an additional proposal (marked in blue pencil) for the widening of the Strand.
