Miscellaneous material, much of which appears to be related to the research of Reginald Allen, author of The First Night Gilbert and Sullivan (1958).
(1). Typed lists headed 'Gilbert & Sullivan Sheet Music Want-List'. September 1962. One list signed 'Reginald Allen'.
(2). Typed notes: 'Reginald Allen's Box of "First Night" Programmes'. With other notes, including typed a transcription from the Pall Mall Gazette (27 March 1896) of an interview with Madame Palmay. Also, an exchange of letters (1960) between Frederic Lloyd and D. Graham Davis (Gilbert & Sullivan Society) regarding the conductor on the first night of H.M.S. Pinafore; and a copy letter (3 Feb 1971) from Herbert Cahoon to Professor John Bush Jones (University of Kansas) concerning the manuscript of Gilbert's 'Bab Ballad' The King and the Stroller ('These were finally located by Mr Allen').
(3). Brief letter from Bernard Miles, Mermaid Theatre (7 Apr 1952) to Reginald Allen, with copy typed reply (30 Apr 1952). Refers to The Liars, and to W. S. Gilbert and Henry Arthur Jones. Together with pp. 183-7 detached from Life and Letters of Henry Arthur Jones (1930).

- 'List of Material I Feel You Should Have'. Typed (1 sheet). 13 items listed, material concerning D'Oyly Carte family members. The list appears to have been typed by Allen and to be addressed to Bridget D'Oyly Carte.
- Folding leaflet promoting sale of Frederic Hood, The Chapel of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (1973).
- Photograph of Eyot House (1891?) adhered to a detached album page; on the verso, a photograph of the north wall at Silchester 'showing herringbone structure'.
- Cast lists for various plays at American theatres (e,g. Chestnut Theatre, Philadelphia), years of performances not given. The lists are attached together, hinged to a single sheet.
- Newspaper cutting, 'Fresh as the Days of my Boyhood' (Western Mail, 12 Aug 1957). Review of D'Oyly Carte Opera Company performing at New Theatre, Cardiff.
- Xerox of brief autograph letter from W. S. Gilbert, 24 The Boltons, South Kensington, dated 11 Nov (year not given). Addressee name illegible: 'Very many thanks for your letter which I have forwarded to the office intended.'
