Scraps concerning Feritsha: So described on a label pasted on the cover, but, as a matter of fact, there are notes on all sorts of subjects, imperfect and not always capable of identification.
Two papers of some interest are placed at the beginning, as follows :-
l. A List of Book and pamphlets published in London, &c. From this the authorship of certain papers can be traced.
2. Books on which I [i.e., Orme] have entered notes in my Commonplace Books. This contains the names of 24 books and of their authors, and is useful, as the headings in Orme's Commonplace Books are often very vague. N.B. In this list Orme ascribes the anonymous Narrative of what happened in Bengal in 1760 to Col. Caillaud. See India VI. 9.
