- Fredric Woodbridge Wilson Collection: Louis N. Parker, Silvia (Autograph Full Score)
- Scope & Content:
-
Silvia, a cantata by Louis N. Parker. Bound autograph full score, in black ink, annotations in pencil. Occasional additional score in red ink.
The front fly-leaf and the title page have been annotated by a number of conductors, noting dates of performances (1883-1897). At the back of the volume is a signed annotation from Parker ('To whom it may concern') requesting the return of the score 'as soon as it is done' to him in Sherborne, Dorset: 'Please do not cover it with particular's pencil marks. Remember that, poor as it is the composer whom it cost a good deal of time has an affection for it. Treat it accordingly and he will bless you.'
The score has been paginated by the composer, pp. 1-246.
