- Scope & Content:

Covers the River Hoogly flowing through Hoogly and Calcutta, north-east India, from Bandel 30 miles southwards to Garden Reach. Portrays hydrology including sands and riverside amenities (e.g. ghauts), vegetation, cultivation, roads, paths, canals, buildings (significant ones named), military barracks and place names, and includes topographical notes.
Map bears the subtitle 'Exhibiting the Principal Buildings, Ghauts, Temples &ca: on both Banks; and comprising the Danish Settlement of Serampoor, Cantonments and Park of Barrackpoor, together with the Settlements of Chinsurah, Chundunnuggur & Environs of Hoogly, with the Great Road from Calcutta to Hoogly, via Palta Ghaut.'
