Subject Index to the Annual Files of the Accountant-Generals Department Correspondence

The index was originally intended as a subject index to the general correspondence created in the Accountant-General's Department, which used a system of 200 annual files of regularly recurring subjects, a list of which is attached to the front of the volume and a second list written in at the back. The index mainly covers the period 1921-1937 (L/AG/29/1/210-211), however there are some later entries to 1943. The correspondence to which these index entries relate however, has, for the most part not been retained.
The subject index has however been added to with the inclusion of headings for papers contained within the Accountant-General's Correspondence Collections and can be used to identify relevant subject papers and correspondence from L/AG/29/1/28-209.
