Fragment of a Thebaid (P.Hib. II 177, TM 65732, LDAB 6986, MP3 1780)
- Scope & Content:
-
Fragments of hexameters from mummy cartonnage; the poem is presumably a Thebaid. The right fragment, which corresponds to fragment 1 in the edition, is in direct speech, and a mother seems to be lamenting her son. The reference to a golden thrinax and to the dithyramb may suggest that he is Dionysus.
