The verso bears remains of another text, defaced.

Two fragments of a papyrus sheet from mummy cartonnage, bearing writing along the fibres on both sides. The text on the back is much defaced. On the front, the upper fragment contains portions of 16 lines and the lower fragment parts of 7 lines. The papyrus is housed in a glass case.

Provenance: Panopolite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 216-228 from the Reverend Greville John Chester (b. 1830, d. 1892) on 14 May 1892. Papyri 219-228 were taken from the cartonnage of a mummy case.
