Two fragments that do not belong together, from mummy cartonagge, written on one side along the fibres, with the back being blank; mounted on cardboard in the same glass case.
Upper fragment (A): Broken off at the top, bottom and left and containing the ends of 7 lines with traces of another line. The right margin is irregular and minimal; no other margin survives.
Lower fragment (B): Broken off at the top, bottom and left; containing the ends of 8 lines, with traces of 2 more lines (1 at the top and 1 at the bottom); with surface damage throughout; no margin was left to the right; the other margins are lost.

Dimensions: A: 56 x 61 mm; B: 55 x 87 mm. Housed in a glass case measuring 180 x 140 mm.
Script: A: Fairly regular semi-cursive hand, with a slight tendency for lines to incline upwards. B: Rougher and thicker semi-cursive hand.

Origin: Egypt.
Provenance: Panopolite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 216-228 from the Reverend Greville John Chester (b. 1830, d. 1892) on 14 May 1892. Papyri 219-228 were taken from the cartonnage of a mummy case.
