(1). Letters and cards from Peter Larkin to Peter Hodgkiss:

• 23 Mar 1981. Typed letter, University of Warwick letterhead: 'Here is the text of the whole of "Enclosures". I send a xerox so that you can retain it for as long as you need and so I don't have to make a fresh typescript. I've only just finished redoing this one, with the usual compulsive revisions, so I was glad your letter didn't come too soon!' Letter annotated by Hodgkiss: 'ms. accepted 2/8/81'.
• 20 Aug 1981. Typed letter, University of Warwick letterhead: 'I shall probably be sending some revised sheets of Enclosures in due course - some things are overwritten, others still not right - but it will only be a matter of three or four pages to be substituted for the pages you have.'
• 18 Jan 1982. Typed letter, together with 'some small amendments to the text' (typed list).
• 23 Jun 1982. Typed letter, University of Warwick letterhead.
• 'Enclosures - Schema'. Typed document (no date) referred to in the next letter.
• 23 Jun 1982. Typed letter, University of Warwick letterhead. Refers to map of the New Forest used for book cover. Photographc copy of map (area as per front cover marked in red) supplied with the letter to replace a xerox previously supplied. 'The schema to Enclosures was for your use (and to try and convince myself) and I agree would be better not used in the actual publication.'
• [Jan 1983]. Autograph postcard.
• 16 Jan 1983. Typed letter with envelope bearing annotation (partially lost when originally opened) on the verso referring to marked area on the cover map.
• 9 Feb 1983. Autograph postcard. No problem with map copyright.
• 2 Jun 1983. Typed letter, University of Warwick letterhead. 'Thanks for taking the other piece for NP [Not Poetry] - it'll be nice to sign off where I signed in as it were. Glad you like "snood" (it's certainly a woody word). Words do recur a lot, yes, and some echo phrases from an earlier preface that has not been included. Thanks for all the hard typewriter bashing.'
• 17 Aug 1983. Typed letter, University of Warwick letterhead. Copies of Enclosures received.
• 30 Aug 1983. Small autograph slip: 'The bookshop has sold one copy of Enclosures.'

(2). Earlier typescript, corrected by hand. Together with two-page typed errata list with which the corrections agree. The typescipt (37 pp. numbered in black ink) combines carbon pages and photocopy pages.

(3). Subsequent (re-typed) typescript, comprising: title-page; epigraphs page; text, pp. 1-37.
