(1). Tom Leonard to Peter Hodgkiss:

• 16 Oct 1985. Autograph postcard: holiday communication from St. Ives.
• 20 Apr 1986. Typed letter, together with two typed copies of 'The Diploma Course: An Overview'.
• 7 Aug 1986. Autograph letter, enclosing 'final draft' (see below): 'I've dropped the "Rule of Law" spot-the-jury one as it would clash with the judges mention in no. 14 as here' [i.e. 'And their judges spoke with one dialect'].
• 'Friday Night (5th)' [5 Sep 1986]. Autograph note referring to proofs: 'These look fine'.

(2). Reviews. Typed letter from Joy Hendry (editor) to Galloping Dog Press enclosing photocopy pages from the journal Chapman (No. 53) in which Leonard's book is reviewed; and a photocopy page from City Limits (Dec [1986]) in which the book is briefly mentioned.

(3). Typescript manuscript (some pages are photocopy typescript). Each poem/page is lettered in pencil A-L. The sequencing of the poems differs from the published order.

(4). Typescript, annotated 'Final draft' and 'Proofs sent 2/9/86'. The sequencing of the poems is in agreement with the publication.

(5). Typeset proofs, annotated by Leonard. With a note (in Hodgkiss's hand) about the publication including ISBN number and projected publication date (Oct 1986).
